What Is It Like to See Wage War Live?

Emergency Broadcast Tour 2026

Briton Bond barks for circle pits and crowd surfers while Cody Quistad sings the choruses from stage right, and "Death Roll" sets off the wildest pit of the night. Florida metalcore built for the floor.

What to Know Before You Go

  • 1
    It's a four-band night.

The Emergency Broadcast Tour 2026 brings We Came As Romans, Varials and Cane Hill on every date, so the headline set is the last thing on a long bill.

  • 2
    Learn "NAIL5."

Bond says he doesn't have to sing half of it anymore because the crowd does it for him. Be part of the half.

  • 3
Pick a song for the vote.

On the 2026 runs the crowd chose between "Who I Am" and "Relapse" mid-set. Know which one you're yelling for.

  • 4
"Death Roll" is the big pit.

It has set off a wall of death before. If you want in, get near the middle; if you don't, drift to the edge when it starts.

  • 5
    Crowd surfers come in waves.

Bond asks for them by name, and security at the barricade is busy all night. On the rail, keep your eyes up.

  • 6
Phones up for the quiet one.

One song gets stripped down every night. In 2026 it was "Gravity," and the room lit up for it.

  • 7
Watch both sides of the stage.

Screams come from centre, cleans from Quistad on stage right. Where you stand decides whose face you see on the chorus.

  • 8
The tour tee is online too.

The Alligator Bones tour shirt was listed on the band's own web store, so you don't have to fight for it at the stall.

What It's Actually Like

Two Voices, Two Jobs

Wage War has two singers, and they don't share. Bond does the screaming from centre stage. Quistad, playing rhythm guitar on stage right, sings the clean choruses. At Riverside Municipal Auditorium on 24 April 2024, the Hunnypot reviewer heard the split doing a physical job: cleans "for headbanging," harsh vocals laid over the beat-downs so the floor knows when to move. That's the rhythm of the night. The chorus is your breather, and the breakdown is where you get shoved. At Nevermore Hall in May 2026, Pittsburgh Music Magazine's reviewer kept coming back to "how well Briton's grungy vocals and Cody's clean, catchy vocals blend in each song." The band also plays to the record. "Every member of the band is polished and sounds exactly like they do on their records," wrote the reviewer at their ten-year shows at House of Blues Orlando in December 2023, and the electronic layers come in on backing tracks.

Bond Runs the Floor

This is a frontman who gives orders and gets them followed. At The Tivoli in Brisbane on 6 August 2026, Bond called pits for "TOMBSTONE" and several other songs, then asked for crowd surfers. The Live Wire's reviewer ended up praising security for "catching the amount of bodies that flew over the barricade." At the Marquee Theatre in Tempe on the Manic tour, a circle pit shoved the crowd "to the edges" of the room. You will feel the floor flex. At Riverside in 2024, "you could feel the auditorium physically moving with how much the crowd was jumping." At The Signal in Chattanooga in May 2022, the Fuel The Scene photographer gave up, put the camera down and went into the pit.

“The smaller clubs are cool because you've got people crowd surfing and right in your face.”
— Briton Bond, Spotlight Report, July 2026

"Manic" Is the Exit Sign

You'll know the night is wrapping up when "Manic" starts. It closed 48 of the 49 counted 2024 setlists and 64 of 66 in 2025, per setlist.fm, and it was the last song at Chattanooga in 2022, House of Blues Orlando in 2023 and Riverside in 2024. The most-played song of their career, though, is "Stitch," logged 477 times on setlist.fm, ahead of "The River" (444) and "Gravity" (409). When "Stitch" opened the spring 2024 co-headline run in North Carolina, a fan blogger at Strange Carolinas wrote that it had the band "making the crowd PICK IT UP!" Expect both, plus "Circle the Drain," which drew "one of the biggest singalongs of the night" in Brisbane in 2026. It's a hits-heavy set. Deep cuts from the early EPs are a rare treat, not the plan.

One Song Slows Down, and the Lights Come Up

Since 2023, every headline set documented in our sources has carried one stripped or acoustic slot, and the room answers it with light. At House of Blues Orlando in December 2023 it was an acoustic "Johnny Cash," with "everyone waving their flashlights (and some lighters) in the air." At the Wellmont Theater in Montclair on 5 October 2024, a setlist.fm contributor logged that "Johnny Cash" "started as the stripped version, turned into normal version." In 2026 the slot belongs to "Gravity," marked "Stripped" or "acoustic" on attendee setlists from the Worcester Palladium to Brisbane. It's two or three minutes where the sweat dries and your phone comes out. The reflex is older than the format: at a sold-out Blind Tiger in Greensboro in December 2017, the light rig died mid-song and "everyone in the crowd took out their phones," wrote a WKNC reviewer who was at their fifth Wage War show.

Short Talk, Long Memory

Bond doesn't give speeches. The Live Wire called the Brisbane banter "minimal," but he still dedicated "The River" to the fans who'd been there "from day one." At the Worcester Palladium on 22 May 2026, he talked about playing their very first show in that same room back in 2015. The between-song messages lean on positivity: at a 2025 UK arena date, The Moshville Times noted "constant affirmations of positivity and unity." Sometimes he can't help himself. Three songs into a sold-out Fillmore night in spring 2024, Bond swore he was "not blowing smoke up your ass" and told the room it was the best show they'd ever played in that city, per Knotfest.com. The crowd took it as a challenge to prove him right.

A Pit With Manners

The pit is rough, and the people in it look after each other. At House of Blues Orlando in 2023, the reviewer saw "a fan base that picked each other up when they fell down and gently lowered crowd surfers to safety." MELODIC's reviewer at Marathon Music Works in October 2024 called it "like one big family at a metal show." The crowd skews young (HEAVY's reviewer at their Knotfest Australia sideshow at Max Watts in March 2024 noticed "a younger crowd than I'm used to"), and a lot of them come back. At Gas Monkey Live in October 2017, Rockpit's reviewer met fans who had seen them the night before and drove up to do it again. If you go down, someone's hand will be there.

Emergency Broadcast Tour 2026 (2026)

Twenty-four North American headline dates run from The Aztec Theatre in San Antonio on 25 October to Hard Rock Live in Orlando on 27 November 2026, with Riverside Municipal Auditorium on Halloween night and stops at The Sylvee, The Fillmore Silver Spring and Franklin Music Hall along the way (Metal Insider). Rooms are theatres and ballrooms. It's the tour behind their sixth album, Landfall, out 9 October 2026 on Fearless.

Openers on Every Date

We Came As Romans, Varials and Cane Hill play every show on this run. That's a stacked metalcore bill, and one more opener than the spring run had, so plan on a late finish. The tour presale code was BLINDFOLD, a nod to the song that's been closing the night.

The Setlist Going In

No setlist exists for this run yet, so the closest guide is the 2026 shape. The spring and Australian shows opened with "4x4" and "Alive," ran "MAGNETIC," "Stitch" and "Manic" to close the main set, then came back for "Blindfold" and "Song of the Swamp" (setlist.fm). Both encore songs sit on Landfall, along with the title track, which the band describes as hurricane imagery from "our Florida roots." Expect new songs to push older ones out; we can't tell you which until the first night.

“The smaller clubs are cool because you've got people crowd surfing and right in your face.”
— Briton Bond, Spotlight Report, July 2026

The Swamp Stage

The spring 2026 It Calls Me By Name Tour dressed the stage like a Florida backwater. At Nevermore Hall, Pittsburgh Music Magazine counted "a tin outhouse-type structure on stage left, leaves adorning the mic stands, cattails and tall grass decorating the drum kit with olive drab green netting on both sides." At the Worcester Palladium the band walked out "from the fog and backlit by glowing green lights," as silhouettes. Whether the swamp travels onto the Emergency Broadcast stage hasn't been announced, so don't count on it.

Earlier in 2026

The It Calls Me By Name Tour ran 21 dates in late April and May with Orthodox and Nevertel. At The Fillmore Detroit on 15 May, setlist.fm users logged Nevertel singer Jeremy Michaels joining for "MAGNETIC." At the Worcester Palladium, the room sang "Happy Birthday" to Quistad, whose birthday was the day before, and the band praised drummer Stephen Kluesener for not missing a beat through monitor trouble. A fan-filmed full set from a Midwest date of that tour is up on YouTube if you want a preview. Then came five Australian headline dates from 30 July to 7 August with Orthodox and Heavensgate, their first headline return since Knotfest Australia 2024.

What's Exclusive

The current tour design is the Alligator Bones Tour Tee, and it's listed on the band's own web store, so it isn't venue-only. Era designs can run out online, though: the green Song of The Swamp tee, the Gavel tee, the Heavy Riffing tee and the camo logo cap were all marked sold out. For collectors, Fearless Records sold a signed "Lagoon" 10-inch pressing of the It Calls Me By Name EP.

The Strategy

Since the tour tee shows up on the web store, the stall isn't a race. If there's a specific swamp-era or Landfall design you want, grab it at the show anyway: the green Song of The Swamp tee sold out online and didn't come back.

Frequently Asked Questions

Loud, physical and surprisingly friendly. It's a short, hits-heavy headline set where Bond keeps the floor moving from the first song, and reviewers keep describing a crowd that picks people up when they fall.

Their headline sets run 1h 20m to 1h 25m, per setlist.fm timings from the 2026 tours. Support slots are much shorter, around ten songs, as on their 2025 arena dates.

On the 2026 headline runs they came on 2h 25m to 2h 45m after doors: 9:15 pm after 6:30 pm doors at The Fillmore Detroit and The National in Richmond, 9:25 pm after 7 pm doors at The Tivoli, per setlist.fm. With three openers on the Emergency Broadcast Tour, expect the late end of that.
