What Is It Like to See Imminence Live?

Axis Mundi Tour North America 2026

Eddie Berg sings, screams and plays violin in the same song, sometimes screaming straight into the violin mic, while his guitarist picks up a bow. Then the room goes so quiet for "Le Noir" you can hear the strings.

What to Know Before You Go

  • 1
    It's a three-band night.

Dying Wish and Gaerea open every date on the Axis Mundi Tour, so the headline set is the last of three.

  • 2
Watch the floor at lights-out, not the stage.

On The Black-era shows a hooded figure carried incense or a glowing lantern through the crowd before the band appeared. If you're staring at the drum riser, you'll miss it walking past you.

  • 3
    Learn "Erase," "Paralyzed" and "Alleviate."

Those are the singalongs reviewers keep naming, and in 2025 the crowd sang the end of "Alleviate" on its own.

  • 4
The pit starts with song one.

"Temptation" opened every documented 2026 show, and it's also the song they've played more than any other. Decide where you're standing before it hits.

  • 5
Two moments to put the phone down.

Berg screaming into the violin on "The Black," and Harald Barrett bowing his guitar on "God Fearing Man." Both are over fast.

  • 6
Don't leave on the last chord of "The Black."

If ["Le Noir" follows](#fan-culture-and-traditions), it's solo violin and the room goes silent.

  • 7
    Barely any talking.

Berg says a few lines and the show runs like one long piece. Don't wait for a story break to go to the bar.

What It's Actually Like

The Singer Screams Into His Violin

There's no separate violinist hiding at the side of the stage. Berg does the cleans, the screams and the violin lines himself, often inside one song, and he doesn't put the instrument down to scream. At The Tivoli in Brisbane on 10 October 2025, Everblack's reviewer watched him scream into the violin mic on "The Black." A fan who drove from Kentucky through severe weather to Eastside Bowl in May 2024 wrote that he "sounded absolutely incredible" and described the same scream-into-the-strings move on the closer. If you've only heard the records, you might expect an electric violin to get buried under two guitars. The Headbanging Moose's reviewer at The Opera House in November 2023 went in expecting it to "sound weird" and came out surprised. It cuts through.

Watch the Guitarist Pick Up a Bow

The other thing people film is Harald Barrett. On "Death Shall Have No Dominion" and "God Fearing Man" he swaps his pick for a violin bow and plays the guitar with it. At Brisbane in 2025, Everblack called "choosing a violin bow over a guitar pick" a moment not to miss. At the sold-out Electric Ballroom in Camden on 10 October 2024, he "took Eddie's violin bow towards the end of the set and played it like a classical instrument," per Scene Music Media. He's usually lit from behind, so what you actually see is a silhouette with a bow. At Liberty Hall in October 2025, Wall of Sound's reviewer saw "only his silhouette."

“This show quickly became the front runner for top 5 concerts ever for me.”

A Pit That Sings

This is not a stand-and-admire crowd. The pit opens early and the floor keeps singing while it moves. At Brisbane in 2025 a moshpit "formed within moments," followed by circle pits, crowd surfers and full-room singalongs. At the Electric Ballroom in 2024 the big singalongs landed on "Erase" and "Paralyzed," then the pit took over for "Heaven Shall Burn" and "Temptation" and a wave of surfers rolled toward the barrier. At The Neptune in spring 2024, Seattle Music Insider saw fans chant the band's name before a note, then watched the circle pit stop and wait while Berg walked his mic into the middle of it. At the Roundhouse in December 2025, Kerrang! caught "a crowd-surfer riding atop another like a human surfboard" during "Temptation." At the same show, Out of Rage saw the "God Fearing Man" breakdown set off a moshpit and more surfers.

"The Black" Is the Way Out

You'll know the night is ending when the title track of The Black starts. It closed 37 of the 50 counted 2025 shows and every counted 2026 show, per setlist.fm, and there's usually no encore break before it: 45 of those 50 counted 2025 shows had none. The set leans on the last three albums. "Temptation" is the most-played song of their career (177 times on setlist.fm), ahead of "Erase" (171), "Infectious" (154), "Paralyzed" (150) and "Ghost" (141), and the 2026 shows opened on it every time. None of the 2025 or 2026 setlists we read included anything from the early EPs. On some nights a short violin coda follows "The Black"; the fan culture section covers what the room does for it.

One Quiet Stretch

Every recent headline set has had a stripped section. At The Opera House in November 2023 it was "Alleviate" and "Saturated Soul" mid-set. On the 2025 North American run the first half of "Alleviate" was piano and vocals only. By the December 2025 finale shows it had grown into a five-song acoustic set ("Saturated Soul," "Alleviate," "Continuum," "This Is Goodbye," "Love & Grace"), and Berg asked the Roundhouse, "You alright if we play a couple of acoustic songs?" Kerrang! noted the crowd was quickly energized again once the electric half restarted. It's the one point in the night where the floor stops moving.

Robes, Incense and Not Much Talking

Since The Black in 2024, the show has been dressed like a church service. At the Electric Ballroom in 2024 the band walked on "cloaked in long black robes." At The Fillmore in March 2025, Fuel The Scene saw "gothic window backdrops and a hooded choir singer." At the Roundhouse, Berg came out cloaked with a string quartet beside him, under arches that made the room feel like a cathedral. Banter stays short. At the Roundhouse, Kerrang! logged little more than the opener, the acoustic question, and Berg's thank-you: "we started our journey here in Camden about eight years ago at the Black Heart." A photographer at the March 2025 show called it "a borderline religious experience for dedicated fans." Whether the Axis Mundi run keeps the robes is not yet known.

Axis Mundi Tour North America 2026 (2026)

22 dates from The Palladium in Worcester on 13 November to MTELUS in Montreal on 13 December 2026, mostly theaters and ballrooms, behind the sixth album Axis Mundi (Sumerian Records, 2 October 2026).

Openers on Every Date

Dying Wish and Gaerea are on the whole run, per Consequence and Live-Metal. In Europe in January 2027 the support changes to August Burns Red and House of Protection. Imminence's own set is the last thing you see, so pace yourself if you plan to be in the pit for all three.

The Rooms on This Run

The Los Angeles stop is The Wiltern on 28 November, a room they also played in March 2025. The Austin date on 25 November is outdoors at Stubb's Waller Creek Amphitheater, the one open-air night on the tour, so dress for a late-November evening outside. Other stops include Palladium Times Square, The Fillmore Silver Spring, The Van Buren, the Riviera Theatre and The Sylvee.

The Setlist Going In

There's no setlist from this run yet. The August 2026 club headliners give a fair preview: at Garage in Saarbrücken on 11 August they played 14 songs, opening on "Temptation," closing on "The Black," with new songs "The Sword That Never Bends," "False Light" and "Crestfallen" worked in among The Black material. Expect more of the new album now it's out. Guitarist Harald Barrett on the record: "Duality has always been at the heart of Imminence." The band also made a companion Axis Mundi film, screened in US cinemas from 29 September.

Earlier in 2026

Before this run they were special guests, with Invent Animate, on I Prevail's Australian arena tour in June, then played European festivals including Summer Breeze and Brutal Assault. In February they released a string-quartet version of "Beyond the Pale" filmed at Ystad Theater in Sweden. After North America, the European headline tour starts 8 January 2027 in Gothenburg and ends 6 February in Malmö. The band calls it "more than just another tour for us."

What's Exclusive

Nothing on the stores is marked as a tour-only item, and the era designs are named after the new songs: "False Light," "Crestfallen" and a "TSTNB" shirt for "The Sword That Never Bends." The collector item is The Black graphic novel ($30), sold alone or in book bundles ($95 with a shirt, $130 with the Moth hoodie) on the band's US store. The Knight shirt was already marked sold out there in October 2026. The US store didn't list standalone hoodies at all.

The Strategy

At The Tivoli in 2025 the merch queue stretched "long past the bar," per Everblack. Since the era designs are on the web store, the thing worth queuing for at the show is whatever you can't find online.
