What Is It Like to See Florence Road Live?
Four school friends from Bray playing grunge-heavy riffs to a room that already sings the songs they haven't released, holds up handmade signs for requests, and goes silent for a piano ballad about rabbits.
What to Know Before You Go
- 1Make a sign
This band reads them. In May 2026 a fan's "Caterpillar" sign got the song played in the encore, and fans have had "Another Seventeen," their first single, played on request too.
- 2Do your homework on the new stuff
A good chunk of the set is songs that aren't out yet, and the front rows know them anyway. Fan-filmed clips from recent shows are the only way to learn them.
- 3Opener
Chameleon is the special guest at the two December nights at the [3Olympia Theatre](/venues/3olympia-theatre). The [Ulster Hall](/venues/ulster-hall) support hasn't been named yet, and nobody is listed for Cork, Kilkenny, Galway or Limerick so far.
- 4Check the age rules
The 3Olympia nights are over-14s only, with under-16s accompanied by an adult. Ulster Hall's standing floor is strictly 16 and over, so younger fans need balcony seats.
- 5Bring the flag
Fans wave flags, and the band notices. In [Manchester](/cities/manchester) in May 2026 Lily Aron spotted a fan's Irish flag and asked for it on stage.
- 6If the gear breaks, play along
A technical fault at Academy 2 in Manchester in May 2026 turned into a rock-paper-scissors game between the band and the room.

What It's Actually Like
You'll Hear Tracks That Aren't Out Yet, and People Will Sing Them
Florence Road treat a headline set as a preview. At O2 Institute Birmingham on 19 May 2026, six of the sixteen songs were unreleased, including "Surprise Surprise" and "How Does It Make You Feel." In Manchester they opened with "7563" before it was out, and the room sang it back anyway. At the 3Olympia homecoming in Dublin on 27 May, Hot Press noticed the crowd knew the lyrics to largely unreleased material. setlist.fm's 2026 average set has "7563" opening and "Break the Girl" closing, with "Heavy," "Storm Warnings" and "Miss" as fixtures; "Heavy" is their most played live song. In 2025 the night opened on "Figure It Out" instead, from the Grand Social in June to The Academy in November. Don't count on an encore. Only 11 of the 54 sets setlist.fm analysed for 2026 had one.
A Whisper, a Roar, and Sometimes the Barrier
Lily Aron's voice is the thing people come back talking about. Gig Noise heard it swing "between a whisper and a roar" at the Grand Social in June 2025, and at Electric Picnic on 30 August 2026, with rain driving people into the Electric Arena tent, she ditched her guitar and went down to dance at the barrier during "Hanging Out to Dry." The riffs underneath are heavier than the TikTok covers suggest: Hot Press called them "gloriously, unapologetically heavy and grungy." The Irish Times reviewer at the same set noted Aron's sunglasses, guitarist Emma Brandon's ginger mullet, and a chemistry that would look the same "whether to 10, 100 or 1,000 people." Fans agree on the sound. A Bandsintown reviewer at the Manchester show in May 2026 wrote "Brilliant., sound amazing," and another that April: "They sounded incredible, great set."
“I took my ear out during 'Heavy', and people were screaming the lyrics.”
The Room Goes Quiet in the Middle
There's a deliberate dip. In Birmingham, Aron asked everyone to "take a cathartic deep breath" before the set slowed down, and the piano-led "Rabbits Can Swim" sits in that stretch; in Manchester people were hugging each other through it. At The Academy on 30 November 2025 the phone lights came up and the floor swayed for "Caterpillar," and the band's acoustic cover of Phoebe Bridgers' "Georgia" got a silence Hot Press said was "worth a thousand words." Then it flips. "Goodnight" comes near the end under red flashing lights, and that's when the screaming starts again. If you came for the loud songs, wait for it.
Four Friends Talking to the Room, and to Each Other
The banter is unpolished and that's the charm. At Academy 2 in Manchester on 14 May 2026 the band told the room their last Manchester show had been to about 100 people; that night held roughly 1,000. Hot Press caught the small joking asides between the four of them at the 3Olympia, and the reviewer at The Academy in 2025 watched them trade smiles all night. They've been friends since school in Bray, and it plays like four people who still find each other funny. Aron has been open about how close the tears are. Ahead of a Dublin headline she told DIY, "I haven't had a full breakdown on stage, but it's coming."
Who's Standing Next to You
The fans call themselves Flo Roadies, and plenty of them found the band through covers filmed in Aron's garden shed, Olivia Rodrigo's "Jealousy, Jealousy" among them. Aron puts the range at young teens to middle-aged, and bassist Ailbhe Barry says parents come up after gigs to say they loved "Figure It Out." The 2022 version of this crowd was school friends standing "max a metre away" in a 100-capacity Dublin room they oversold by half. Now it fills two nights at the 3Olympia. The friends-at-a-gig feeling has survived the move: a Dublin fan on Bandsintown called it "brilliant atmosphere and 10/10 performance."
Irish Headline Tour (2026)
Six dates from 27 November to 16 December 2026, billed as their first-ever Irish headline tour: Cork City Hall, the Set Theatre in Kilkenny, Róisín Dubh in Galway, the Spiegeltent Pavilion in Limerick, the Ulster Hall in Belfast, and two sold-out nights at the 3Olympia on 15 and 16 December. It follows "Hanging Out to Dry" becoming the first song by an all-female Irish band to reach No. 1 on the Irish Airplay Chart since Radiomonitor tracking began in 2012 (Hot Press; IMRO).
Cork to Belfast, Then Two Nights Home
This is the first time they've taken a headline show to Cork City Hall, Kilkenny, Galway and Limerick, with Belfast and the two Dublin nights at the end. The band's own pitch: "We've wanted to do this for a long time, and we can't wait to bring these shows around the country." Tickets were €30 face value in the Republic (€34 with fees and the venue levy), and £28 to £33 plus a fee at the Ulster Hall. Doors at the 3Olympia are 7pm.
What the Spring Shows Tell You to Expect
Nobody has seen these dates yet. The best guide is the May 2026 run: a stripped-back stage at the 3Olympia so you can see all four of them, an all-original set, and a live "Hanging Out to Dry (Dublin Version)" recorded that night. Hot Press summed up the crowd leaving: "fully convinced they have just seen a band on the edge of something much, much bigger." The December 3Olympia nights are the return to that room.

Merch
There's no official apparel price list we could verify, so we're not quoting tee or hoodie prices. The collectible is the Spring Forward EP on orange transparent 12" vinyl, limited to 1,000 copies and two per customer, €21 at the Warner Music shop. At The Academy in November 2025 the band signed merch for fans, and the bunny-hunt prizes were signed vinyl.

Frequently Asked Questions
It's a loud, grunge-leaning indie show with a quiet middle, played to a young, mixed-age crowd of Flo Roadies. Expect heavy riffs up front, a ballad or two where the room goes silent, and "Goodnight" turning into a scream-along near the end.
A headline set runs about an hour: the sold-out Drake Underground show that closed the October 2026 North American run went a little over an hour, and the Birmingham set in May 2026 was 16 songs. Festival sets are shorter, nine songs at Electric Picnic 2026.
Yes. Every attended review we found was positive, from Gig Noise calling them "tight, fearless" in 2025 to a four-star Irish Times review of their 2026 Electric Picnic set. Fans on Bandsintown keep coming back to the sound.
Yes, especially in small rooms while they're still playing them. The December 2026 Irish dates are mostly halls and theatres, and the band's chatty, unpolished banter works best when you're close enough to catch it.
"Goodnight" is the shout-along, "Hanging Out to Dry" is the one Aron leaves her guitar for, and "Heavy" is their most played live song. For the quiet side, "Rabbits Can Swim" is the moment the room goes still.
Chameleon is the special guest at the December 2026 3Olympia nights; other Irish dates had no announced support as of early October. Earlier in 2026, For Nina opened the May 3Olympia show, MOIO opened at KOKO and People I've Met opened at the Bowery Ballroom.
Teenagers, yes, but the venue sets the floor. The December 3Olympia nights admit over-14s, with under-16s accompanied by an adult, and the Ulster Hall standing area is 16 and over, so younger fans there need the balcony.
No, and they worried about that label themselves. The 3Olympia set in May 2026 was all originals; covers are rare, with "Georgia" played seven times on setlist.fm's count.
