What to Know Before You Go
- 1Last entry is 9:00 PM, gates open 6:00 PM.
The bailey is a small entry funnel and all bags are searched, so leaving bags at home speeds you through. Shows wrap around 10:30 PM.
- 2Download your ticket before you leave home.
Tickets are mobile-only via the Ticketmaster app. The operator explicitly warns that site connectivity cannot be relied on, and screenshots will not scan at the gate. iPhone users cannot save these tickets to Apple Wallet.
- 3Park at Broadgate or Lucy Tower, not Castle Hill.
Castle Hill (LN1 3AA) is directly outside the East Gate but capacity is very limited. Lucy Tower Street multi-storey (LN1 1XL) and Broadgate Multi-Storey (LN2 5AP) absorb the load; Broadgate runs around £5 versus the closer central lots at around £8. Either way, expect an uphill walk to the castle.
- 4No chairs in the arena from 2024 onward.
This is a change from earlier one-off events at the castle. The surface is undulating short grass, the arena is standing-only general admission, and the operator strongly recommends proper footwear. Picnic blankets, gazebos, and umbrellas are also banned.
- 5East Gate has a paved accessible route that bypasses the cobbles.
Steep Hill and the streets immediately around the castle are cobbled and famously taxing on foot (one TripAdvisor reviewer logged the walk up as "the equivalent of 18 flights of stairs"). For wheelchair users, ambulant ticket holders, and anyone with mobility issues, enter via the East Gate paved route, and park in Westgate 1 East or The Lawn for blue-badge bays.
- 6Bring an empty reusable water bottle.
One sealed 500ml water bottle is allowed in, or one empty reusable. Free refill stations are signposted inside the arena. The bars run pricey based on fan feedback from the 2024 Madness show.
- 7No re-entry once you leave.
If you step out for any reason, you cannot come back in. The bag check at the gate is one-way.
