About Still Ringing

Still Ringing is the concert-culture desk at Concerts Remembered. I'm Jake.

I've been going to shows for twenty years, the big arena tours and the bands playing to forty people in a room with a busted ice machine. I'll drive three hours for a good one. If I tell you a show was worth it, it's because I was there, or because I did the work to know.

I put out two pieces a week. The Issue comes Wednesday: whatever's worth arguing about in concert culture that week, and it ends on a Concert Law. The Deep Cut comes later, something longer that doesn't expire, like whether the encore should even exist or what you're actually paying for in a ticket fee.

I don't run press releases, and I won't hype anything I wouldn't hype to a friend. I source what I say and call a rumor a rumor. When I'm wrong, I say so the next week. The opinions are mine, and you're welcome to fight me on them.
