Concert Venues in Toronto

Confirm which "Rogers" your ticket means before you leave home. Rogers Centre is the downtown dome beside the CN Tower on Blue Jays Way; Rogers Stadium is the outdoor venue 40 minutes north at Downsview Park on Carl Hall Road; Rogers Arena is in Vancouver and not in this city at all. Fans regularly report showing up at the wrong station, so check the address before you get on the train.

TTC Line 1 (Yonge-University) is the one line that reaches every venue here. Ride it south to Union for Rogers Centre and Scotiabank Arena, or north to Downsview Park, Sheppard West, or Wilson for Rogers Stadium. Same train, opposite ends, and the direction is the whole decision.

Union Station is the covered move for both downtown venues. Scotiabank Arena is a five-minute indoor walk from Gate 1, and Rogers Centre is 5 to 10 minutes mostly under cover through the SkyWalk. You can reach either one in a Toronto February without stepping outside.

Set up your fare payment before you travel. All three venues are cashless, and the TTC takes Presto and contactless tap-to-pay at the fare gates. Load your card before the show so you're not fumbling in a post-show line at Union.

Free post-show TTC rides only happen at Rogers Stadium. Live Nation Canada sponsors free Line 1 rides home from Downsview Park, Sheppard West, and Wilson if you show your concert ticket to station staff. At the two downtown venues you pay the normal fare both ways, so budget for it.

The Downsview walk is 30 minutes, not the 10 advertised. Rogers Stadium's fenced pathways route around the old runway perimeter from all three of its stations, and fans consistently report the real walk runs closer to half an hour. The two downtown venues are the opposite: short, covered, and quick.

Skip driving to every venue in this city. Rogers Centre has no lot at all, Scotiabank's Lot C takes 60 to 90 minutes to clear post-show per repeated fan reports across multiple years, and Rogers Stadium parking is advance-purchase-only through Ticketmaster. Transit beats a car at all three, which is unusual even for a big city.

Rideshare gridlocks hardest at the two downtown venues. Around Rogers Centre (Bremner, Blue Jays Way) and Scotiabank Arena (Bay north of Lakeshore), surge runs 2-3x and streets clog for 15 to 30 minutes, so walk east to York or north to King before ordering. At Rogers Stadium the designated pickup zones sit 400 to 900 metres from the gates and drivers often can't reach them, so TTC is the better call there specifically.

Bring a layer to any show that isn't sealed indoors. An open roof at Rogers Centre means cold downtown night air even in summer, and Rogers Stadium has no roof at all and runs rain or shine. Toronto nights drop fast after sunset, so a July forecast is not the temperature you'll leave in.

Pack light, because the bag rules are strict and nearly identical across all three. No backpacks anywhere, bags over 6 by 9 inches must be clear, max 12 by 6 by 12 inches. Scotiabank is even tighter, capping clutches at 16.5 by 11.5 cm, so the smallest bag you can manage clears every Toronto gate.

Treat every venue here as no re-entry. Once you clear security at any of the three, plan on staying in for food, drink, and merch. Do your runs early rather than counting on stepping back out.

Start toward the exit before the encore ends. The Rogers Stadium walk back to the subway is the real bottleneck, with fans reporting exit queues up to two hours on opening night, and even downtown the Union platforms and Bremner streets pack fast. A few minutes' head start saves 30 or more on a busy night.

TTC Line 1 is the spine of every Toronto concert trip, and the only subway line that reaches all three venues. Southbound, Union Station serves both downtown rooms: a five-minute covered indoor walk to Scotiabank Arena's Gate 1 through the York Concourse, and a 5-to-10-minute mostly covered walk to Rogers Centre via the SkyWalk and the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Northbound, three stations feed Rogers Stadium at Downsview: Downsview Park (900 metres to Gate 1), Sheppard West (900 metres to Gate 2), and Wilson (1,800 metres to Gate 3, with a free shuttle). Pick your exit gate to match the station you rode in on.

Union versus Downsview is the contrast that defines getting around here. The downtown venues are the easiest big-venue transit in the city: short, covered, weatherproof. Rogers Stadium is the reverse, where the advertised 10-minute walk from any of its three stations runs closer to 30 because the pathways are fenced and loop around the old runway perimeter.

Fares work the same at every gate, with one break in your favour. The TTC takes Presto and contactless tap, and all three venues are cashless. Only Rogers Stadium offers a free post-show ride, sponsored by Live Nation Canada, from its three Downsview stations when you show your concert ticket. The downtown venues charge the standard fare.

For regional trips, Union is the GO Transit hub for both downtown venues, with a single adult fare around $12 one way. Rogers Stadium sits one stop north of Union on the GO Barrie Line at Downsview Park GO, last train 11:55 PM, and some 2026 dates lost GO Barrie service to track work, so check alerts for your show. Flying in, the UP Express runs Pearson to Union in 25 minutes, which lands you at the downtown venues' doorstep and one Line 1 transfer from Downsview.

Rideshare and parking both punish you for driving. Surge and street clog concentrate downtown around Rogers Centre (Bremner, Blue Jays Way) and Scotiabank Arena (Bay Street north of Lakeshore near Maple Leaf Square), where fans report 2-3x pricing and 15-to-30-minute gridlock, so the move is to walk a few blocks to York or King before ordering. At Rogers Stadium, rideshare is actively discouraged: the AU Review's Coldplay reviewer wrote "Don't get an Uber to the venue" after road closures dropped them a 30-minute walk out. On parking, Rogers Centre has no venue lot, Scotiabank's Lot C runs $35 to 50 and takes 60 to 90 minutes to clear, and Rogers Stadium sells parking in advance through Ticketmaster only.

Entertainment District and Union Station (Rogers Centre, Scotiabank Arena). Both downtown venues sit inside or beside Toronto's Entertainment District, so one dense strip of bars and restaurants feeds either show. Fox on John sits between the two, roughly five minutes from Rogers Centre and ten from Scotiabank. Real Sports Bar and Grill is right next to Scotiabank on Maple Leaf Square, which fills with fans before major tours. Steam Whistle and its kitchen are near Rogers Centre, and The Well and its restaurants are a short walk west. The area is well-lit and transit-dense, and you can bar-hop the same district whether your ticket is for the dome or the arena. If you'd rather stay put, Rogers Centre's own Outfield District bars let ticket holders drink inside the building before the set.

Downsview Park (Rogers Stadium). This is the anti-neighborhood: 44 acres of decommissioned airfield in north Toronto with no walkable pre-show strip at all. The pre-show scene is the venue's own Fan Plaza outside the bowl gates, with the Vista Corona beer garden, the covered Terminal 81 tent, and food trucks. Fans consistently report the food trucks outside the gates beat inside-the-bowl prices, with one reviewer paying $18 for a burger they compared to a $5 smash burger elsewhere. If you want a real restaurant meal, eat downtown or near your home station before riding north, because there's nothing at Downsview once you leave the Plaza.

Outdoor season is the Rogers Stadium calendar, running roughly May through October. The temporary Downsview stadium packs the warm months, with a 2026 slate through October that includes Bruno Mars, Luke Combs, Noah Kahan, Foo Fighters, Guns N' Roses, and BTS. It's fully outdoor and rain or shine, so both summer heat warnings and sudden thunderstorms are real: Oasis played through a thunderstorm in August 2025, and Bruno Mars's May 2026 opener was postponed for weather.

The two downtown venues book year-round but around their sports tenants. Scotiabank Arena runs concerts between Raptors and Maple Leafs dates (concerts are roughly 30 to 40 percent of its programming), so availability tightens through the NBA and NHL seasons. Rogers Centre schedules around the Blue Jays, and its retractable roof means a downtown show can land in any month, though an open roof on a cool night gets genuinely cold even in summer.

Whatever the season, Toronto nights drop fast after sunset. For any show that isn't sealed indoors, an open-roof Rogers Centre night or any Rogers Stadium date, bring a layer even in July.
