What Is It Like to See Provinz Live?
Three cousins and their drummer from a village near Ravensburg walk on to Kavinsky's "Nightcall," play "Tanz für mich" early, then play it again at the end while thousands of mostly young fans jump to the barrier.
What to Know Before You Go
- 1Listen for "Nightcall"
The walk-on music has been Kavinsky's "Nightcall" across tours. When that synth pulse starts, the band is seconds away.
- 2Learn "Tanz für mich" properly
It's the jump song, it sits near the top of the set, and it usually comes back as the closer. On the 2025 open airs it was played twice in Dresden and Freiburg.
- 3Don't panic about a bad floor spot
Mid-show the band has moved to a small stage or piano podium in the middle of the crowd for the quiet songs. If you're at the back, that's your moment.
- 4Practise a waltz step
"Walzer" is in three-four time and people actually dance it. The band's own TikTok asked fans to post dance videos to it.
- 5Look after the people next to you
The packed, young front rows have seen repeated collapses from heat and crush, in 2021 and 2024 especially. Wave security over early if someone looks pale.
- 6Robin sings the duet parts
[Nina Chuba](/artists/nina-chuba) and Danger Dan aren't on tour, so keyboardist Robin Schmid takes their lines on "Zorn & Liebe" and "Unsere Bank." A fan logged the real guests on the bill at the [Max-Schmeling-Halle](/venues/max-schmeling-halle) in April 2024.
- 7Opener
No support had been announced for the Cry Baby Cry Tour 2027 as of October 2026. Recent supports were IDER and Magda (2025) and Paula Carolina and Paula Engels (2024).
- 8Ravensburg sells out in minutes
Every hometown show has gone almost instantly. If you want the 23 November 2027 Oberschwabenhalle date, buy now rather than in the run-up.
- 9It's all in German
Lyrics and banter are German. "Tanz für mich" and "Spring" work without the language; the jokes and the thank-yous won't.

What It's Actually Like
The Walk-On Is Always Kavinsky
The lights drop and a song that isn't theirs fills the room: Kavinsky's "Nightcall," played in full. It opened the night at the Technikum in Munich in November 2021, before "Hymne gegen euch," and it was still the walk-on at the Palladium Köln on 25 March 2024, where the band then stood on a raised platform right at the barrier and each member got hit by a spotlight in turn. On the 2025 open airs the reveal changed shape. A huge Pacific-blue curtain hung in front of the stage, and at the Filmnächte am Elbufer in Dresden on 11 July 2025 the crowd got impatient and started singing on its own before it slowly rose. You'll know it's time when the person next to you starts filming a curtain.
"Tanz für mich" Twice, "Spring" for the Jump
Provinz shows are built around two jump songs, and one of them gets played twice. At Backstage Werk in Munich in November 2021, "Tanz für mich" got the biggest reaction of the night and came back as an unplanned final encore with a moshpit. At the Palladium in 2024 it closed the show. By the 2025 open airs it had a double slot: early in the set, then again as the reprise that ended the Dresden show. At Hamburg's Trabrennbahn on 8 August 2025 fans jumped all the way to the front row during it, and "Spring" closed that night with the whole field bouncing. If you only learn one chorus, make it that one.
“Jeder hat Songs, die er hört, wenn es ihm nicht gut geht. Wir hören dann viel James Blake”
The Ballads Move Into the Middle of the Crowd
That intro to "James Blake" (everyone has songs they play when they're not okay; for us it's a lot of James Blake) gives you the other half of the night: ballads, and the band leaves the main stage for them. At the Konzerthaus Ravensburg in December 2023 the house lights went out mid-applause and the four reappeared at the mixing desk on the far side of the hall, on a podium surrounded by fans, for two acoustic songs with four-part harmony. At the Westfalenpark Dortmund on 12 July 2025 they moved to a B-stage in the crowd for "Zorn & Liebe," "Alaska" (Robin alone at the piano) and "1000 Nächte," the new song about losing someone. On the Münsterplatz in Freiburg in August 2025 it was a piano podium in the middle of the square, and phone lights came up all around it. Fans at the back of the floor end up closer than the barrier for ten minutes.
Robin Sings Nina Chuba's Part
The band's best-known duets were recorded with other people, so keyboardist Robin Schmid sings their parts live. At the Palladium in 2024 he stepped up to the mic for Nina Chuba's lines in "Zorn & Liebe" and Danger Dan's in "Unsere Bank," and he did the same "Zorn & Liebe" duet at the Ravensburg homecoming. The exception: a fan's Concert Archives log for the Max-Schmeling-Halle show on 6 April 2024 lists Danger Dan, Jeremias, Majan and Nina Chuba on the bill. At Ravensburg in December 2023, Robin's mother Sonja came out to play violin on "Unsere Bank." Violin goes back a long way here: a 2016 festival line-up listed a violinist in the band, and on the 2025 open airs violinist Asita joined as a fifth player.
Great Vocals, Stiff Moments: The Energy Debate
Nobody argues about Vincent Waizenegger's voice. The minutenmusik reviewer at the Palladium called his singing near-flawless and the band "on point." The argument is about energy. That same reviewer felt the ballad-heavy second half sagged, and at Dortmund in July 2025 another minutenmusik writer found the band stiff, "almost as if running through a rehearsed programme," with Vincent forgetting lyrics and none of the dancing he and bassist Moritz "Mosse" Bösing used to do. A fan on the festivalsunited.com forum, writing after a Hamburg club show in July 2025, called it "a solid concert, but there was more in it" and said the sound could have used more power. The other side: at the Ravensburg homecoming Vincent and Mosse used the whole stage jumping and dancing, and "Reicht dir das" flipped from a soft piano ballad into a rough rock song on Leon Sennewald's drums. A Bandsintown fan after the Max-Schmeling-Halle show praised "a brilliant sound." Expect the crowd, not the band, to bring the chaos, and it tends to arrive late: at the Palladium it stayed reserved through the opener and only broke open at "Liebe zu dritt."
Young, Mostly Female, and Very Much in the Crush
The crowd is young and mostly female ("thousands of young, mostly female fans" at Dortmund in 2025), with families mixed in: Dresden in 2025 had parents, siblings and at least one grandfather, and some fans arrived in the afternoon to claim spots on the Elbe. The front gets tight, and collapses have become part of this band's story. At Backstage Werk Munich in November 2021 someone went down during the encore after "Großstadt" and the show stopped for about five minutes. At the Palladium in March 2024 several people collapsed near the end while the band played on, and the reviewer called them out for it. At Dortmund in July 2025 they stopped the show when a fan needed medics. Know where security is, and don't be shy about waving.
Cry Baby Cry Tour 2027 (2027)
Fourteen arena and large-hall dates across Germany, Austria and Switzerland, from 12 November to 3 December 2027, announced by Landstreicher Booking on 5 October 2026 three days after the single "Cry Baby Cry."
Up to Arenas, With a Hometown Night
The rooms: the Olympiahalle in Munich, the Wiener Stadthalle, Zurich's Hallenstadion, and arenas in Hamburg, Nuremberg, Leipzig and Trier, finishing at the Max-Schmeling-Halle on 3 December. The Zurich promoter calls it the largest headline show Provinz has played in Switzerland. The 23 November date is back in the Oberschwabenhalle in Ravensburg, the room where a sold-out 2022 homecoming was cancelled. Expect that one to feel like a family reunion: at their last Ravensburg show, Vincent told the crowd "Ihr ermöglicht es uns, einen Traum zu leben" (you're letting us live a dream), and friends and family were in the audience.
Tickets and On-Sale
General sale opened 7 October 2026 at 12:00 via Landstreicher, the band shop and Eventim, with a limited priority sale for Zurich through Ticketcorner on 6 October. The band shop listed tickets from €57 for some German dates. Fans had already argued about the step up for the 2025 open airs: on the festivalsunited.com forum one user said they had "expected 50 euros," and another pointed out the previous Oberschwabenhalle ticket had been €48.

What the Set Will Probably Lean On
No new album has been announced, so the last full set is the best guide. The 2025 open airs ran 24 songs in Dresden, opening "Kein Tag ohne dich," "Großstadt," "Tanz für mich" and closing on "Walzer," "Was uns high macht" and "Spring." "Cry Baby Cry" leans toward British-style indie rock, a slightly harder sound than Pazifik. Production and opener are unannounced.

Frequently Asked Questions
A German-language indie-pop singalong that swings between jump songs and ballads, with a young crowd that knows every word. It peaks on the jump songs "Tanz für mich" and "Spring," then drops into ballads like "1000 Nächte" that leave people in tears.
Provinz play 1h 30m to 2h 0m as headliners. Festival sets are shorter: their Hurricane slot in June 2026 ran 1h 16m.
Between 8 pm and 9 pm in recent years: 21:00 at the Palladium in 2024 and in Ravensburg in 2025, about 20:45 in Dresden, 8 pm in Freiburg. The one documented delay was Backstage Werk Munich in 2021, when 2G entry checks pushed everything back about an hour.
Yes, vocally: Vincent Waizenegger's singing gets consistent praise from reviewers. The criticism is about pacing, with ballad-heavy back halves and a stiff night in Dortmund in 2025, so it depends on whether you came for the "Spring" and "Tanz für mich" jumps or for the ballads.
Yes if you know the songs, because the crowd sings everything and the best moments are communal, like the whole room jumping to "Spring." If you don't speak German, the banter will pass you by, but the jump songs won't.
"Tanz für mich" and "Spring" for jumping, "Liebe zu dritt" for the loudest release (it broke the Palladium crowd open in 2024), "Reicht dir das" for the biggest singalong of the 2024 Palladium back half. "1000 Nächte" is the one that makes people cry.
Mostly a career mix. The 2025 set ran from "Was uns high macht" (their 2019 breakthrough) and "Reicht dir das" through "Zorn & Liebe" to newer songs like "Kein Tag ohne dich," "Pazifik" and "Draußen ist Krieg." The 2024 tour was the exception, with five unreleased songs and few *Zorn & Liebe* tracks.
They'll be indoors: the tour moves into arenas in November and December 2027, after a summer 2025 run of their own open airs for up to 17,000 people. The 2027 production and setlist are unannounced, and the only new song so far is the single "Cry Baby Cry."
Yes. On the 2025 open airs they said "Kein Platz für Hass, kein Platz für AfD" in Dresden and introduced "Draußen ist Krieg" with a stand against racism, exclusion and the AfD in Ravensburg. In Hamburg, Vincent said "Ich liebe Demokratie" before the same song.
