What Is It Like to See Lord Huron Live?
Ben Schneider runs the night like the narrator of his own story world, props and dancers included, then steps back from the mic and lets the whole room sing "The Night We Met" for him.
What to Know Before You Go
- 1No opener on the residency.
Every 23 Nights at the Broken Bottle date is billed "An Evening With" Lord Huron, so the band is the whole night.
- 2Learn "The Night We Met."
Schneider steps away from the mic and the crowd sings it. It's the moment everyone waits for, and it lands late.
- 3Do your homework on the new record.
Schneider has asked crowds to hear *The Cosmic Selector Vol. 1* "the old-fashioned way, front to back," and the 2025 and 2026 shows opened with three new songs in a row.
- 4Watch the props, not just the band.
The set is a story. On the last tour a payphone rang mid-show and Schneider answered it; the residency turns the stage into The Broken Bottle, the honky-tonk bar from the band's fictional world.
- 5Bring someone to sway with.
"Wait by the River" and "The Night We Met" turn the floor into slow-dancing couples, arms around each other.
- 6Stay for the last word.
"May you live until you die" is how Schneider signs off, usually around "Not Dead Yet," and that's the one people dance out to.
- 7Pick your night if your city has two.
Seven stops on the residency are two-night stands, and the band is promising rarely played deep cuts alongside the hits.
- 8Expect a duet on "I Lied."
Touring singer Misty Boyce usually takes it with Schneider, and on some 2025 dates guest Allison Ponthier stepped in.

What It's Actually Like
The Hush Before "The Night We Met"
It's their second most played song (415 times on setlist.fm), and it never comes early. It closed the encore at the Orpheum in New Orleans in 2019 and at Brewery Ommegang in Cooperstown, NY, in 2022, and on the 2025 and 2026 tours it closes the main set right after "Meet Me in the Woods." What surprises first-timers is how quiet the room gets. At the UCCU Center in Orem, Utah, in October 2025, the first notes drew a cheer loud enough to leave the student reviewer lightheaded, and then the crowd went still, "as if they were paying their respects to something, someone who was gone" (Tricolor Times).
Every Tour Is a Story, and the Stage Is the Set
Lord Huron shows are staged as chapters of Schneider's made-up world, and each era brings a new device. At the Crystal Ballroom in April 2015 he opened by turning the dial of an old radio to a fake newscast reporting where Lord Huron had last been seen, under a neon Strange Trails sign that changed color every song (Best New Bands). On the Long Lost tour in 2022 the band walked on to "Time's Blur" and Schneider pulled on a skull mask for "The World Ender" (315music), a mask 303 Magazine called "realistic" when it came back at Red Rocks in 2023, under a glowing emerald star. The latest version is in the tour section below. You don't need the lore to enjoy it, but the fans around you will know it: 303 Magazine notes that "Lord Huron fans are often referred to as either World Enders or Travelers," names lifted from the band's own stories.
“Their purpose wasn't to escape, it was to be present.”
"Ends of the Earth" Is the Early Singalong
Their most played song, 439 times on setlist.fm, has been in the set since the first record. It opened their 2013 set at Newport Folk and the sold-out Cannery Ballroom show in Nashville in February 2014. At a June 2018 hometown amphitheater show it got the biggest reaction of the night, "as it usually does" by that reviewer's count (Pass the Aux). On the last tour it arrived fourth, right after the new songs, and at Red Rocks in June 2026 it pulled a "swaying sing-along that only happens when a song has connected deeply with fans over the years" (Loud Hailer). If the new-album opening run feels slow, this is where the room wakes up.
A Deadpan Narrator, Not a Frontman
Schneider talks like the narrator of his own show, deadpan and a little strange. At the Hammersmith Apollo in September 2025 he thanked "my CD ladies up front," called the vinyl crowd "nerds," and warned, "don't listen to it backwards, you're gonna invite some shit into your life" (Rockshot). At Red Rocks in 2026 he announced, "we have officially entered the country portion of our set." After a rainy 2023 Red Rocks night in which a prop star crashed to the stage, he told the soaked crowd, "You braved the cold, you braved the rain, you braved the fallen chain" (303 Magazine). At the Hollywood Bowl in 2019 he called up to the upper seats, "How the hell you folks doing up there? We are having a party up here" (Buzzbands LA).
A Band That Swaps Instruments and Shares the Mic
Watch the side of the stage. At Red Rocks in 2023 the band rotated through a stand-up bass and steel guitar, and at the Hammersmith Apollo in 2025 guitarist Tom Renaud moved to pedal steel for "Watch Me Go." "I Lied" is a duet every night: touring singer Misty Boyce took it at Red Rocks and at the Hammersmith Apollo, where Rockshot called it a highlight, and Allison Ponthier stepped in at Madison Square Garden and in Orem. Schneider has said the live show is "not gonna be the same thing as the record" because "We just can't tour with a 20-piece band," and that "making sure it sounds good" is the one thing they won't compromise (Stereogum, 2018). The one documented sound complaint is old: at a sold-out UK theater date in January 2018 the front of the stalls got a "truly shocking cacophony," and the reviewer said the back and upstairs were better (Americana UK).
Two-Hour Nights, Calm Rooms, the Odd Rarity
Plan for a full two hours: the Orpheum in 2019 was "an exhaustive two hour set, but their energy never wavered," and reviews from both legs of the 2025 and 2026 tour clock the same. The room is calm, not a pit. At Brewery Ommegang in 2022 the crowd ran from young kids at the barrier to teenagers, long-time millennial fans and older listeners, many of whom had left work early. Rarities show up when you least expect them: "Moon Song," unplayed since 2016, came back at Red Rocks in 2023 just as the moon broke through the clouds, and Neil Young's "Harvest Moon" turned up in a 2018 hometown encore. The Orpheum reviewer summed up the mood as "one of the most inexplicably serene yet electric shows I've been to."
23 Nights at the Broken Bottle (2026-2027)
A 23-show "traveling residency" from December 1, 2026 to January 11, 2027, announced August 4, 2026 (Grateful Web; JamBase). It opens December 1 in Nashville and ends with a two-night LA finale on January 10 and 11, with seven two-night stands in all. Pollstar framed it as a step down in room size: after selling out arenas and amphitheaters, the band moves into vintage theaters.
What The Broken Bottle Is
Every stage on the run gets dressed as The Broken Bottle, "the desert honky-tonk bar the band has made famous in its extensive fictional universe" (uDiscover Music). The band's own pitch is "a neon and moonlit journey across the years." If you've followed the story world through the records and videos, this is a set built from a place you already know. If you haven't, expect a bar, not a desert mound and jukebox.
No Opener, Deeper Setlist
Every date is billed "An Evening With" Lord Huron, with no support act (Grateful Web; Pollstar). The promise is "fan favorites, hits, and rarely performed deep cuts." On the last tour the main set barely moved night to night and only the final encore song rotated, so this is the run where the setlist might finally loosen up.
“Their purpose wasn't to escape, it was to be present.”
Two Nights in Seven Cities
Seven stops on the 23-show run are two-night stands in the same theater, spread across December in the Midwest, the Northeast and Montreal, and January on the West Coast; the full list is on the band's tour page. Presale opened August 5 and general sale August 7. If deep cuts are the draw, two nights in one room give you the best shot at hearing something different.
What Carries Over From The Cosmic Selector Tour
The residency follows the Cosmic Selector Tour, which ran from July 2025 into August 2026 and added arena headline dates alongside amphitheaters. That show leaned on staging: a payphone with a tiny camera inside that put Schneider's face on the big screen, "a fly on the wall of an intimate moment magnified x1000" (The Concert Chronicles), dancers Marin Rylee and JaVonte' Marquez, and Kristen Stewart's spoken-word narration on the opener "Who Laughs Last." Whether the payphone makes it into The Broken Bottle hasn't been announced. Schneider's banter and the sign-off are the safe bets.

Merch
Merch intel is thin. The documented collector item is Justin Santora's screenprinted poster diptych for the two Red Rocks shows on May 28 and 29, 2025: two 18x24 five-color prints, signed and numbered in an AP edition of 20, plus an uncut 36x24 version in an edition of 10, printed by The Half and Half. Posters: $65 for the matching diptych set. Uncut poster diptych: $100. They went on sale online through the artist's own store on June 5, 2025, a week after the shows, so missing the table at Red Rocks didn't mean missing the print. The band's official webstore was password-protected as of October 2026, and no fan reports on tee or hoodie prices or quality turned up.

Frequently Asked Questions
Both, and that's the point. Hunt News's reviewer at MGM Music Hall in 2025 called it "a performance that feels as much like a play as it does a concert," with narration, props and dancers carrying a story between songs. The music still leads: the band swaps instruments all night and the crowd sings "The Night We Met" back.
About 2h 0m for a headline show. Reviewers at MGM Music Hall in 2025 and at Red Rocks and the Coca-Cola Roxy in 2026 all described two-hour sets, and setlist.fm shows 20 to 22 songs.
Around 9 PM on a typical bill. At the UCCU Center in Orem in 2025 the lights went down at 9:05 PM after a 40-minute Kevin Morby set (Tricolor Times), and at KettleHouse Amphitheater in Missoula in June 2026 doors were 6:30 PM with the show at 8:00 PM. We found no fan complaints about late starts.
Mostly hits and the newest album, with a rarity now and then. "Moon Song" returned at Red Rocks in 2023 after seven years, and the residency is the first run billed around "rarely performed deep cuts."
Yes, especially if you like your shows with a story attached. Every 2025 and 2026 review found was positive, the staging gives you something to watch beyond the band, and the crowd singing "The Night We Met" back is the kind of moment you won't get from the record.
"The Night We Met," "Ends of the Earth," "Meet Me in the Woods" and "Wait by the River" get the biggest reactions, and "Not Dead Yet" is the one people dance to. From the newest album, "Who Laughs Last" opens the show with Kristen Stewart's narration.
It works for a wide age range. At Brewery Ommegang in 2022 the crowd included young children at the barrier, teenagers, millennials who'd followed the band from the start, and older listeners (315music).
Yes: smaller rooms, no opener, and a looser setlist. The Cosmic Selector Tour played arenas with a payphone-and-jukebox set and a near-fixed setlist; the residency moves into theaters dressed as The Broken Bottle bar and promises deep cuts.
