What Is It Like to See Lil Peep Live?
Club rooms of screaming teenagers, a laptop on the stage playing the beat, and a skinny kid in a Hello Kitty beanie who cut the track so the crowd could finish his songs. Last toured: 2017.
What to Know Before You Go
- 1This is history now
Lil Peep (Gus Åhr) played his final show on 14 November 2017 and died the next day, hours before a Tucson date that never happened. Everything below describes the shows he actually played.
- 2The birthday nights are tributes, not concerts
His estate runs celebration nights around 1 November built on a DJ set across his whole catalog and a tribute to Gus. Net proceeds go to Oxfam. Nobody is performing as Peep.
- 3Learn the endings
On the spring 2017 tour his crew cut the backing track for the last stretch of a song so the crowd could finish it. Know the last verse and chorus of "Crybaby," "Star Shopping" and "Hellboy."
- 4Dress the part
His crowds wore fringes over the eyes, heavy beanies indoors and alien-print shirts. Peep himself went all black with bedazzled accents and a Hello Kitty beanie.
- 5The room skewed very young
His US shows were all ages and the [London](/cities/london) debut was 16 and over. At one sold-out October 2017 show, reviewers spotted kids there with their parents.
- 6Guests, not big-name openers
BEXEY supported in Europe. On the last US run, Horse Head and fish narc walked out to join him on songs.
- 7The merch you can still buy is online
Official designs from his catalog are sold year-round. Original 2017 tour shirts are resale items now, and a lot of "tour" listings are reprints.

What It's Actually Like
A Laptop Show That Rose or Sank With His Night
The music came from a laptop. A DJ ran the backing tracks off a MacBook on the stage and Peep sang over them; at Omeara in April 2017 his studio vocal was still on the track underneath. At The Echo in Los Angeles on 10 May 2017 he skipped the vocals on "Hellboy" and "White Wine" entirely, then stopped to apologize to the room for not actually singing (KXSC Radio). A Cherwell reviewer on the autumn 2017 UK leg watched him chat at length before every song, joke with fans about what to play next, and then stare at the laptop for what felt like minutes deciding. That reviewer also saw him finish a whole bottle of Hennessy during the set and called it "an amateur gig."
He Cried, Turned His Back, and Let You See It
Peep did not perform confidence. At The Echo he paced with his bangs over his eyes, flipped the odd middle finger, and kept turning away from the crowd so the words "EXIT LIFE" tattooed across his back faced the front rows. He started crying onstage after "OMFG." Somebody yelled "You f***ing saved my life!" during the same set, and during "Worlds Away" one fan got so overwhelmed that security had to carry him out (KXSC Radio). The documentary Everybody's Everything shows the harder nights too: TheWrap's review describes footage of him "stumbling onto the stage."
“The communal, cathartic energy of the room, guided by Peep, made this a really special show”
Mosh on "Drive By," Crowd-Surf on Everything Else
The pit opened on the trap-heavy songs. KXSC saw "passionate moshing" break out on "Witchblades" and "Drive By." At Omeara, a 350-capacity club in London, on 7 April 2017, VICE's Emma Garland found "relentless screaming and crowd surfing" and wrote that there was "not a single still or silent body in the room." It started that way. A fan who wrote up the phone video from his first show, at Gary's Place in Tucson on 13 February 2016, describes Peep standing shirtless and motionless in the middle of the club before he started "violently bouncing in unison with an audience he has now wrangled complete control over" (James Murphy, Medium).
The Same Bookends Every Night, and Covers Off the Recording
You knew how the night would start and end. On the final tour, setlist.fm's average setlist opens with "Hellboy," "Drive By" and "Benz Truck (Gelik)," closes on "Crybaby," and logs zero encores across 20 shows. "Beamerboy" is his most played song on the site with 40 logged performances. The covers were one-offs: blink-182's "Dammit" shows up four times on setlist.fm, and at The Studio at Webster Hall on 17 April 2017 he sang it over the original recording while kids stage-dived (Kerrang). One November 2017 Texas date even opened with System of a Down's "Chop Suey!" played from tape before he walked out (setlist.fm).
Teenagers Who Came Looking for Him Specifically
The Ringer's Micah Peters described "sold out shows playing to massively teenaged audiences," and every attended review agrees on the age. KXSC saw everyone from hip-hop heads to goth kids in one room. At the sold-out Phoenix Concert Theatre show in October 2017, Sidewalk Hustle noted "many children with their parents" in the line that wrapped outside. The mood was not a party mood. One Songkick reviewer called the room "dead" because "every1 was fucken depresed af," while another wrote "Went there sober and still had a fucking blast." Both are describing the same artist on the same tour.

What's Exclusive
Nothing from the 2017 tours is sold new. An "original" Come Over When You're Sober tour shirt was listed on eBay for $69 with no authentication, and marketplaces sell "vintage reprint" tour hoodies, so check the seller before you trust the word "tour." What you can buy is the official catalog at lilpeep.com, built on his own iconography: the Crybaby designs, the OG skeleton print, HELLBOY embroidery, and a HELLBOY x TOOPOOR collaboration hoodie.

Frequently Asked Questions
A small, packed club full of teenagers screaming every word at a performer who was visibly going through it. The beats came off a laptop and the pit opened on "Drive By." At The Echo he cried onstage after "OMFG"; on the autumn UK leg a Cherwell reviewer watched him drink through the set.
On his final tour, a full set ran 14 to 16 songs, per setlist.fm, with no encore. His songs are short, so the headline set itself was brief.
Both. He sang over backing tracks run from a laptop, and at Omeara VICE caught him shouting over tracks with the vocals still on. When he did sing alone, reviewers liked it: KXSC praised his a cappella voice at The Echo, and a Songkick fan wrote that hearing him sing live "was awesome."
Late, going by fan and press reports, and after a DJ warm-up. One Songkick reviewer wrote that the show "took a while to start, about 30-50 mins," and at the Phoenix Concert Theatre Sidewalk Hustle described a "lengthy DJ set" of Panic! At The Disco, Lil B and Young Thug before he walked out.
"Beamerboy," "Crybaby," "Hellboy" and "Star Shopping" are his four most played live songs on setlist.fm. "Drive By" and "Witchblades" started the pit at The Echo, and "Worlds Away" was the one that got a fan carried out by security that night.
For the people in the room, yes, and their reviews still read that way: "LIL PEEP IS THE LOVE OF MY LIFE" is a real Songkick review. The press verdict was split. Cherwell called it "an amateur gig" it enjoyed with "a sense of guilt," while KXSC called The Echo "a really special show." What every account agrees on is that the crowd made it.
It was bigger. The spring run meant small clubs, a GothBoiClique chant before he came out, and BEXEY opening in London. By autumn he was playing larger music halls and Rolling Loud behind his debut album, with Horse Head and fish narc walking on as guests in the US.
Most of the US dates were. Neumos and The Middle East Downstairs both listed the 2017 shows as all ages, and the London debut at Omeara was 16 and over. At the Phoenix Concert Theatre, Sidewalk Hustle saw kids there with their parents.
Tricky Falls in El Paso, Texas, on 14 November 2017. The setlist.fm entry ends on "Crybaby" and carries the note "Final Lil Peep concert." He was due in Tucson the next night, the city where his live career had started at Gary's Place in February 2016.
