Your Haute & Freddy Concert Experience Guide

What Is It Like to See Haute & Freddy Live?

Haute & Freddy's Big Disgrace Tour 2026

A themed costume ball run by two jesters: dress to the night's code, and you might get crowned on stage during "Scantily Clad" or hear Haute improvise a song about your birthday.

What to Know Before You Go

  • 1
Every show has a dress code.

Each city gets its own announced theme, and the room really does follow it. Check the band's socials for your date before you plan an outfit (the themes so far are in [Fan Culture](#fan-culture-and-traditions)).

  • 2
Dress up if you want on stage.

The volunteers for "Scantily Clad" are picked from the crowd by outfit, so the costume is basically your audition.

  • 3
Have your birthday or big news ready.

Haute asks the room what's going on, then makes up a song about it on the spot.

  • 4
Don't skip the opener in North America.

The Rubin Brothers juggle, unicycle with an upright bass, and come back during the headline set. On the November European dates the support is Cabbage The Clown.

  • 5
A plain outfit is fine too.

A reviewer at Club Soundwell in Salt Lake City showed up in a t-shirt and wrote that the crowd's warmth made it feel fine.

  • 6

**Know *Big Disgrace* before you go.** The whole debut album is played every night, and the crowd sings nearly all of it back.

  • 7
    Buy merch at the table.

In October 2026 every item in the official online store was listed as sold out, so the venue may be your only shot.

What It's Actually Like

Haute Does All the Talking, Freddy Never Says a Word

This is a two-character play as much as a gig. Michelle Buzz stays in character as Haute for the whole night and does every bit of the between-song talk, but the voice changes city to city: a cackling crone at the Hollywood Theatre in Vancouver in September 2026, an exaggerated cartoon British accent at the Wonder Ballroom in Portland that same week, Elizabethan phrasing at Warsaw in June. Lance Shipp, as Freddy, does not speak at all. He sits behind the drums and a drum pad, slides over to keys or piano, and lets Haute run the room. If you came expecting banter from both of them, you won't get it, and that's the joke.

Two People, a Lot of Tape, and It Still Doesn't Sound Thin

Here's the honest fan debate. There are two musicians on stage, and a lot of the arrangement runs on backing tracks. setlist.fm users log the intro and a mid-set "Circus Loop / Narration" as played from tape. The Georgia Straight's Vancouver reviewer said the mix never sounded thin, and Melodic's reviewer at The Fonda in September 2026 singled out Buzz's live vocals as the thing that carried the night. Spectrum Culture's Portland reviewer liked the show but wished they'd add a synth player or bassist, because every instrumental part still comes from one person. Our take: the vocal is real, the drums are real, and nobody in a feather headpiece seemed to care about the rest.

“We are the humble jesters and our fans are royalty.”

Tell Them It's Your Birthday

Right after "Scantily Clad," Haute turns to the crowd for personal news and improvises songs about it. The fan who logged the June 16, 2026 Music Box show on setlist.fm wrote down four in one night: a job hunt on Indeed, "Amanda who eats on Friday," "Nathan the Leo," and Jocelyn's 21st birthday. At the Bluebird Theater on June 11, a couple getting married the next day got a song. In Vancouver it was a birthday tribute to a fan named Chase, and the Georgia Straight called the improv "top notch." By the time they reached The Fonda in September, the duo were also working from prompts audience members had written down. Shout when she asks. That's the whole trick.

Permission to Feel Everything

The emotional flavor isn't euphoria so much as relief. At Club Soundwell in Salt Lake City during Pride month (June 13, 2026), Haute reframed the old "female hysteria" diagnosis from the stage as an invitation for men, women, trans and nonbinary fans to be openly emotional, then thanked the Utah Pride community. Instinct Magazine's reviewer, who wore a plain t-shirt into a room of corsets and Elizabethan gowns, came out writing "We weren't just attendees. We were family," and described strangers hugging after the show. It's a dance crowd, not a pit: FEMMUSIC's reviewer at the Bluebird wasn't sure there was a single song the crowd didn't sing. People move, people sing, nobody shoves.

Haute & Freddy's Big Disgrace Tour (2026)

72 setlists logged on setlist.fm across the duo's career, 40 of them tagged to this tour. Clubs and theaters in North America, the UK and Europe, plus festival daytime sets and a run into Brazil and Mexico.

A Cartoon, a Curtain, and a Circus Wagon

The show opens with a short, deliberately crude animated film of the two of them running away from a circus. Then the red velvet curtain pulls back and they're standing on a circus wagon with "Haute & Freddy" painted across the top. Two clown backup dancers, called "fous," arrive partway through, and at Warsaw the dancers came from the Fou York troupe of the Fou Fou Ha! collective. At The Great Hall on May 29, the opening night of the North American leg, Haute climbed up to the balcony with a Marie Antoinette wig and opera glasses for a monologue, and the balcony fans recited it along with her. In Portland she walked out wearing a papier-mâché rat mask a fan had made for her, and the local drag group the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence joined for the last song.

The Setlist: The Whole Album, Anti-Superstar to Shy Girl

This tour plays all 13 songs of Big Disgrace every night, so the set barely moves. "Anti-Superstar" opens, "Fashion Over Function" follows, and "Shy Girl" closes, per setlist.fm's Music Box log and NYS Music's Warsaw setlist. The middle runs "Sweet Surrender," "Sophie," "Fields of Versailles," "Femme Hysteria," "I Like My People Weird," "Freaks" and "Scantily Clad," then "Showgirl at Heart," "Dance the Pain Away" and "Symphony for a Queen." The only cover is David Bowie's "Let's Dance," which FEMMUSIC says they play "because Bowie," and the Bush Hall show in May skipped it. The Great Hall got the first-ever "Film Noir," still unreleased, and the fall leg added the new single "Touch Touch."

The Rubin Brothers Are Part of the Show

On the North American dates the support is The Rubin Brothers, sibling vaudevillians Colescott and AJ Rubin, and fans keep telling each other not to skip them. Colescott unicycles while playing upright bass; AJ juggles pins standing on his brother's shoulders. At the Bluebird they improvised a song about unicorns and a pencil box from crowd suggestions, and the changeover afterward was "remarkably short," per FEMMUSIC. They don't vanish after their set either: in Salt Lake City the two acts improvised a number together, and in Portland the brothers rode back out on unicycles with trumpet and sousaphone at the end.

The November Run Through Europe

The fall leg crosses the Atlantic in November 2026 with 12 dates, opening at Huxleys Neue Welt on November 4 and closing in Ireland on November 22, with Cabbage The Clown supporting. It's the duo's first show in Brussels (Le Botanique, November 6), and the next night's PAARD date in The Hague is billed as part of Stonewall Festival. Heaven gets two nights, November 18 and 19. Rooms grew fast this year: Warsaw sold two nights at 1,100 capacity after a March show at the tiny Hidden Jewel Box Theatre in Port Authority drew about fifty people, so check venue listings close to the date in case a show has been moved up.

Merch

Tour tees: $35. Vinyl: $28 (red or signed copies of Big Disgrace). CD: $15. Vinyl and tee bundles: $58. Those are official online store prices; venue table prices weren't documented. The tee designs are tied to this album cycle (the Starburst, Scantily Clad, Easter Egg Crimson, and Big Disgrace Wine and Charcoal tees), and in October 2026 all 12 items in the store showed as sold out, so don't count on ordering later. After the Salt Lake City show a long merch line formed at the end of the night, so if you want a specific tee, the table before the set is the safer bet.

Shorter daytime sets built on the hits and "Scantily Clad." At Outside Lands they played the Lands End stage at 1:20pm to a thin Polo Field, but costumed superfans pressed to the rail and Buzz leaned over to hug them afterward (The Standard).
