What Is It Like to See Getdown Services Live?
Two shirtless schoolmates from Butlins' Minehead, roasting your city between disco-punk songs about crisps, landlords and quiche, while bags of snacks fly both ways and a solo guitar song quietly wrecks the room.
What to Know Before You Go
- 1Bring a sealed bag of crisps.
"Crisps" is the song where fans lob bags at the stage, and the band lobs crisps right back.
- 2A Wispa Gold gets you noticed.
It's a nod to "I Got Views," and the band has thrown fan-gifted bars back into the crowd.
- 3Expect to be insulted, affectionately.
They will roast your city, your turnout and themselves. Booing back is part of the deal.
- 4Grab a stranger for "Caesar."
The crowd pairs up, links arms and spins. Don't stand there with your arms folded.
- 5Don't use the quiet song as a bar break.
About two-thirds in, Josh plays "I Wish It Didn't Bother Me" alone on guitar, and that's where the night turns.
- 6Near the front means snacks in your hair.
Crisps get scattered over the first rows, and once it was quiche. Stand further back if you'd rather stay crumb-free.
- 7Opener on the Massive Champion Tour
Shelf Lives, confirmed for the two [Roundhouse](/venues/roundhouse) nights in Camden.
- 8Merch tip
Massive Champion-era designs sell out on one official store while staying listed on the other, so check both. Details in the [Merch section](#merch).

What It's Actually Like
A Butlins Redcoat Night With the Tops Off
Josh Law and Ben Sadler grew up in Minehead, the Somerset seaside town built around a Butlins holiday camp, and the show plays like a redcoat entertainment night that got into the minibar. Josh told DIY it's "Butlins' Red Coats. Karaoke. Your dad. I dunno..." The shirts come off early and stay off. At Crookes Social Club, a working men's club, on a Wednesday in May 2025, both played in nothing but Adidas shorts and told the room "this is Butlins, we're drunk, and we haven't got any trousers on" (Now Then). When a fan at Bristol's Strange Brew yelled for Josh to take his top off, he shot back: "we know our own show, we know what your here for" (Epigram). You will spend most of the night watching two sweat-drenched blokes fist-pump at you. That's the show, and it's a good one.
The Banter Pokes the Room
They talk a lot, and they aim it at you. At Camden's Electric Ballroom in November 2025 they took a swipe at the capital and drew a round of playful boos, which photographer shot.with.mills summed up as "poke the bear, crack a grin, then drop another tune" (No Taste). At Brighton Music Hall in Massachusetts in April 2026, the only stop on their North American run that didn't sell out, they made sure the room knew it, then joked about touring Harvard that afternoon (WTBU). There's a running Chris Martin bit: Ben announced "I am Chris Martin" at Strange Brew, and Josh shouted "Yes! I am Chris Martin!" mid-song at Edinburgh's Mash House (The Wee Review). They'll also roast their online critics from the stage. If your city gets called out, boo. They want you to.
“I'm sorry, I don't know why I did that, someone's going to have to clean that up now.”
The Snacks Are Part of the Set
The songs are about crisps, quiche, Jamie Oliver and cheese, and the food turns up on stage. At the Brudenell Social Club in November 2025, an impromptu quiche-eating contest broke out mid-set during "Eat Quiche, Sleep, Repeat," and the Yorkshire Evening Post's reviewer said he had "never witnessed a mid-set quiche-eating competition." At Harry Styles' Meltdown in June 2026, they teased the Purcell Room crowd with a whole cheese board and then refused to share it (Rolling Stone UK). The bit changes from night to night. The groceries don't.
The One Quiet Song Hits Hardest
Every headline set stops dead for "I Wish It Didn't Bother Me," which Josh plays alone on guitar while Ben steps back and watches. At Brighton Music Hall, a cautious crowd finally gave in: "By the song's close, you could feel the audience letting down their defenses," wrote Stella Tongour for WTBU. In Edinburgh the Mash House sang the chorus back at him. At the January 2026 Trinity Centre homecoming, the stripped-back stretch dealt with "the worst period of my life," and Bristol24/7's Susie Long called the night "a masterstroke in balancing hard-hitting material with comedic performance." The songs about rent, landlords and men's mental health are the part nobody warns you about.
A Laptop, a Cowbell and Two Frontmen
Most nights this is a duo singing over backing tracks, not a rock band. At Strange Brew in December 2024 "the laptop came out for 'Biscuit Tin' and 'Caesar'" (Bristol24/7), and Ben bangs a cowbell like it owes him money (Epigram). When they announced their August 2026 record-store run, they pitched it as the opposite of a normal gig: "no backing track and playing actual instruments at a fairly low volume." With no instruments to man for most songs, both of them roam, swing their arms like robots, drop sudden dabs and stage-dive. At Brighton Music Hall, Josh dove in and got carried through the room (WTBU).
"Whatever You Want" On, "Dog Dribble" Off
Status Quo's "Whatever You Want" is the walk-on tape, from the Electric Ballroom and the Brudenell in November 2025 to the Edinburgh Fringe shows at La Belle Angele in August 2026 (setlist.fm). Then they chat for a few minutes before the first song. "Dog Dribble" brings it home: it's their most-played song on setlist.fm (98 setlists), and at Crookes it brought "a guitar riff, mosh pits, and bouncing" (Now Then). That night they encored with the Beastie Boys' "Sabotage." Josh says the goal is to get people to drop their guard: "To just see people with their eyes closed, losing their fucking minds, is quite a profound thing" (Rolling Stone UK).
Massive Champion Tour (2026-2027)
Fifteen UK and Irish headline dates from November 18 to December 9, 2026, behind second album "Massive Champion," then two Bristol Beacon homecomings in January 2027 and a European run in March 2027.
Bigger Rooms, Same Chaos
This is a jump in size. The autumn routing runs from two nights at Tramshed through Vicar Street and two nights at Project House, closing at the Roundhouse on December 8 and 9 (Songkick). A year earlier they were playing the Brudenell and the Mash House. The current set leans on the new record ("The Definitive Map," "Oh My God," "I Can't Die Like That," "Lentils") alongside the older staples (setlist.fm).
Glasgow: Check Which Room You're In
The November 26 date is listed in three different places. Songkick has it at the Barrowland Ballroom, SWG3's own site lists The Galvanizers (7pm, 14+), and Bandsintown lists SWG3's Poetry Club with Shelf Lives supporting. Read your ticket before you book a taxi.
The Roundhouse and the Bristol Beacon
The Roundhouse nights are in the Main Space with doors at 7pm and an 11pm curfew. Tickets run £25 to £34 before fees, with a six-ticket cap and £26 low-income tickets, and £1 from every ticket goes to Glass Door Homeless Charity (Roundhouse). Under-14s must be in the seated areas. The Bristol homecomings are January 16 and 17, 2027 in Beacon Hall at Bristol Beacon, £25 including the fee, standing stalls with seated tiers. The Saturday is already sold out, and the venue bills it as their biggest hometown headline yet (Bristol Beacon).
Beyond the Tour
They're named among the support acts for select dates of Harry Styles' 2027 Together, Together stadium extension (Spin), and Songkick lists four Tempelhof nights in July 2027 on their calendar. Expect a far shorter set at those. Their eight-song support slot at the Courteeners homecoming in August 2026 is the closest guide (setlist.fm).

What's Exclusive
The "Massive Champion" cycle has its own line: a Massive Champion tee, Massive Champion socks and a Retro Logo long-sleeve, plus the album on transparent lime vinyl (UK store) and a Highlighter Yellow LP (US store). Stock is split oddly. The UK store via Breakfast Records had the Massive Champion tee, the socks and the long-sleeve out of stock while the Logo, Freak and Cobalt tees stayed listed. The US store had it the other way round, with the Logo tee, Freak tee and long-sleeve gone and the Massive Champion tee and socks in stock.
The Strategy
A sold-out listing on one store doesn't mean a design is gone. Check the UK store (breakfastrecords.greedbag.com), the US store (getdownservices.store) and the Australian store before you give up. If you're in the UK, the £15 tees there undercut the US store's $25 tees.

Frequently Asked Questions
It's part disco-punk gig, part seaside variety show, run by two shirtless mates from Minehead who roast the crowd between songs. Expect call-and-response chanting, food used as props and a lot of sweat. The Wee Review called it "a semi-chaotic, semi-improvised stand-up show."
A headline set runs 12 to 13 songs. No reliable minute count has been published, but the 11pm Roundhouse curfew with 7pm doors and an opener gives you a sense of the evening's shape. Festival and support slots are shorter: the Courteeners support was eight songs.
Something you don't mind getting sweaty and covered in crumbs. The band performs in shorts and nothing else, the front rows get showered in snacks, and in small rooms it gets properly hot (one photographer called a sold-out club show "a sauna of joyful chaos"). There's no fan dress code.
They start when billed, and you'll know they're coming because Status Quo's "Whatever You Want" kicks in. They usually talk to the crowd for a few minutes before playing a note, so the first song lands a beat after the walk-on.
Yes, most of the show runs off a laptop with the two of them singing, Ben on cowbell and Josh on guitar for some songs. Their August 2026 record-store run was the exception, played "with no backing track and playing actual instruments at a fairly low volume."
"Dog Dribble" is the closer and the mosh-pit song, and it's the one they've played most. "Get Back Jamie" (their dig at Jamie Oliver), "Head Down for the Conversation," "Evil on Tap" and "Eat Quiche, Sleep, Repeat" are the other regulars.
Teenagers, yes, with limits set by the venue. The Roundhouse requires under-16s to be with an adult and puts under-14s in seated areas, and the Bristol Beacon and SWG3 shows are 14+. Be ready for a lot of swearing: shouting "f*ck off" on cue is a crowd ritual.
They've gone from drunk and aggressive to tight and deliberate. Josh says that early on they threw ice and shouted at people, and that once fans "started showing up to see us and had bought tickets, we knew we owed it to them" (Rolling Stone UK). The rooms have grown from Bristol pub upstairs rooms to the Roundhouse.
Yes, especially if you think you don't like comedy bands. Reviewers keep saying the same thing: the silliness gets the room's guard down, and then the songs about rent and mental health land. Bristol24/7's Susie Long couldn't remember a gig she'd enjoyed more.
